World Cup: So far in the World Cup history, there have been 6 batsmen who have completed centuries playing less than 60 balls. Of these, two batsmen have performed the feat of completing 100 runs in less than 50 balls.


Australia’s explosive batsman Glenn Maxwell recently made the record of scoring the fastest century in the World Cup. He completed his century on just 40 balls in the match against Netherlands on October 25.

In the same tournament, Aiden Markram also held the record for scoring the fastest World Cup century. He scored a century in 49 balls in the match against Sri Lanka on October 7. This record could last only for 18 days. Now he stands second in terms of scoring the fastest World Cup century.

The third name in this list is Irish batsman Kevin O’Brien. Kevin had scored 100 runs in 50 balls against England in the World Cup 2011. The record of scoring the fastest World Cup century was in his name for the last 12 years.

Glenn Maxwell has also scored a century in the World Cup 2015. Then against Sri Lanka he completed 100 runs in 51 balls.

In the World Cup 2015 itself, South Africa’s legend batsman AB de Villiers also scored a century on just 52 balls. He is at fifth place in terms of scoring the fastest World Cup century.

Eoin Morgan is the sixth and last name to score a century in less than 60 balls in the World Cup. Morgan had scored a century in 57 balls against Afghanistan in World Cup 2019.
